MESSAGE: I am looking for my father who had a northern rhodesian passport (new info) as i understood he was south african and met my mother in africa possibly 1956/7. I was born in Sri Lanka (used to be called Ceylon) and they then travelled across the world to australia. My father's trade was an agricultural engineer and could fix any machinery etc. His parents had two farms and my grandfathers name was carel and my grandmothers name was pauline.there were five children, four boys and a girl called johanne. He was born approx !927 and i know that his youngest brother was called Paul Daniel Smit. Any information would be gratefully received even if it is how to find birth certs etc or any part of the family as i have heard my father had cousins further north.My grandmothers maiden name was Van Eyk. I have a half sister who is also trying to find him and she has been searching in Argentina the last known address she had for him. Thank you in anticipation.
