MESSAGE: The Philippines were and continues to be exotic—attractive or striking by being colorful or unusual. Luz Bartholomew/Bartolome, worked as a secretary for Naval Support Depot in the 1970s. She was the living embodiment of being attractive and striking, as well as colorful or unusual. We dated during much of the time I was in the Philippine but when I left the Navy in 1975 I lost contact with Luz.
I heard that Luz moved to Saudi Arabia in the late 1970s or early 1980s. I hope and pray that Luz’s life turned out well. Luz would be in her 70s now. At this stage of our lives, I hope I can find her and my prays for her have been answered—she has had a good life. Would love to hear from Luz or anyone who knew or knows her.
Looking back on life through the prisms of time, I realize I lost an important person and friend that I should have kept. I combine my appreciation, respect and love of the Philippines with similar emotions towards Luz.
